Surfboards
There are a lot of different types of surfboards. If you’re an experienced surfer, then you already know all the different options and what each type of board can do. That being the case, this section will be more geared for the novice and focus on general dimensions. The dimensions of the surfboard are really what determine what type of board it is, and who should be riding it. Of course, a lot also has to do with style, but style isn’t something you can develop until you’ve been surfing for a while. The good news is that modern surfboards are mostly made out of foam and fiberglass. Though some prefer more traditional options, modern technology has provided us with a better, safer option. When you feel safe, you feel free to do more.
The length of the surfboard is a big key to how easy it will be to use. If a board is very long, it should be much easier to use, as it will be more stable.
The width of the board will determine how easy (or difficult) it will be to steer. The wider the board, the easier it will be.
The depth of the board will determine how easy it will be to paddle and ride on. The deeper the board, the easier it will be.
After you have decided what kind of board you want, you can then go shopping for the type. This can be a fun process. It can even be fun after you make the purchase if you want to put some artwork on it, which can advertise your personality. Regardless of what kind and type of board you choose, make sure to pick up some wax. Check temperatures so the wax you buy matches the temperature where you surf.
